Engaging Problem Gamblers in Oregon – Doing Well, More to Come

In Oregon, about 8% of the population will develop problem gambling symptoms in a given year, yet only 1100 individuals statewide will access problem gambling resources. In this presentation, we will discuss the successes and challenges of connecting with individuals who have a gambling problem, as well as examining the resources available to problem gamblers in the state.

Participants will:

1) Learn about the variety of prevention and treatment resources available in Oregon

2) Learn about the culturally-specific resources being developed to reach out to problem gamblers not currently involved in treatment

3) Learn how cultural, technological, and generational trends will impact both recreational and problem gambling in the future.
